Do you want to build your leadership skills and help those we serve at WISEPlace gain access to fresh, healthy produce and improve their nutritional knowledge?
You can become our Volunteer Team Leader for our twice-monthly Farmer's Markets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays each month! This opportunity is 14 hours per month, and involves:
- Greeting the produce driver that's delivering produce on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month
- Picking up fresh produce from Tanaka Farms in Irvine at 9am as needed
- Greeting and leading other volunteers for the Farmer's Market
- Dropping off and setting up the produce in the Community Room
- Tracking resident attendance and help them "shop" the produce
- Cleaning up after the Farmer's Markets - wipe down tables, clean and put away any utensils
- Gather all excess produce after the Farmer's Market and put it in the fridge downstairs
- MUST BE ABLE TO BE ABLE TO LIFT AND CARRY UP TO 25 LBS
